Piggle-Wiggle series, protected day and "Knight" in a Brodart cover. Betty MacDonald died way too young a few months after this book was released. Piggle-Wiggle series became her most popular books for children, written while she was living on Vashon Island, where her farm has since been converted to a bed & breakfast. As for the author, Betty MacDonald saw humor in everything, especially herself, even during bouts of depression and her nine-month stint at the Firlands tuberculosis sanitarium, and she wasn't afraid to write about it. Knight's artwork has found its way into magazines, greeting cards, posters, and record albums, to name a few. Very Good with previous owner's name on the ffep and a bookplate on the rear cover in Very Good Minus lightly clipped (not affecting the $2.50 price) dust jacket with edge wear, some chipping, slight soiling (including lightly penciled owner - talk about paranoid!), and very teeny closed tears.
